First Aid Certification Training
Ross Thistle was born in Toronto Ontario and raised by an Air Force family. Being part of a military family, meant being posted to different military bases. Ross has lived in Chatham New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Germany, Goose Bay Labrador, but has spent most of his life living in the Quinte Region.
Joining the military at 18 years of age, Ross had a 29-year career in the Canadian Forces serving both the Army and the Airforce. Ross completed tours overseas and in the Canadian Arctic.
His passion for learning, teaching and mentoring others assisted in obtaining several military qualifications including mountain warfare (operations and survival in an alpine setting) and winter warfare (operations and survival in a sub Arctic setting), First Aid Instructor and First Aid Instructor -Trainer and has held the position of the First Aid Training Officer at CFB Trenton.
Ross has a strong passion for the outdoors, wilderness, animals and anything related to survival and field craft, that he chose to combine those skills with his skills as a First Aid Instructor and became a wilderness survival instructor and a wilderness and remote first aid instructor under a separate company "FACT First Aid Certification Training, Wilderness and Remote First Aid Specialist". He is a Wilderness First Responder certified by the Wilderness Medical Associates International, and a certified Wilderness Survival Instructor (Survival Canada Inc.), and is an open water Diver through ACUC.
His hobbies include, white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, camping, fishing, bee keeping, snowshoeing and skiing and volunteering with Canada’s largest youth organization, the Canadian Cadet Organization and is a member of the Trenton Rotary.
Ross has been married to his wife Lisa for Four years, who is his business partner. Ross has one adult son serving in the Canadian Forces in Gagetown, New Brunswick.
